Welcome to the 29th international chessopen Graz
For the first time the event takes place at the Chamber of commerce in Graz
With almost 370 participants, a record participation was achieved.
Players came from 37 nations from all over the world: inside to fight in 4 groups.
The victory of the A tournament and thus the overall victory goes to India. Grandmaster Abhijeet Gupta was able to dominate with a convincing performance of 8 points.
The second winner, grandmaster Hagen Pötsch, scored 7 points and ranked equal on points with the third and fourth place winners. The fine evaluation resulted in third place for the Austrian grandmaster Felix Blohberger.
The Styrian state championship was also held in the A group. David Schernthaner can call himself the Styrian national champion, ahead of the vice national champion Daniel Kristoferitsch.

C-tournament < 1700 Elo, weekend tournament free
